Make Quality Post for Your Blog

Okay, I’m going to start a series of blogging experience sharing in here. Starting from this posts, I’m going to posts all of my experience with blogging. I purposely didn’t use the terms of “blogging tutorial” since I don’t really think what I did is the best method, since I keep on learning new things everyday. But still, what I did teach me that new ways always can be found by interacting in this blogosphere. The key is

Do in blogosphere what bloggers do.

Make Quality Post

I figured out that writing something on your blog, won’t instantly interest everyone. Some may find your writings is useful, some might fell from their chair hilariously while reading your blog, and in some cases; some might feel that it’s nothing but crap. Hey, there’s a lot of heads out there to be satisfied, and believe me it’s not easy.

Instead of trying to satisfy everyone, for a start I say you blog independently. Write things that you feel like to write about. Decide your niché, your main focus. For example:

  • if you feel like you’re a big football fan, then write about football
  • if you involve in gardening on daily basis, it’s a good idea to start with the related theme
  • if you’re a Visual Basic Programmer, than writing techie stuff would be a great idea (and less headache for you)

and don’t get disoriented with writing what your friends wrote on their blog. It’s not wrong to be in the mainstream, but when you realized that you’ve walking down the wrong path.. it’s your time that you lost.

But one thing you need to know, what ever your interest is. You’re not alone. There are people out there probably sharing the same interest with you. And you need to reach them. You need to find  a way that the person should land on your blog and read your content. And when the time comes, make sure you impress them. Give them the right reason to come back again, and become your follower (or friend). And that’s why you should write quality post. Write with your head and heart as working together.

Do Not Just Copy-Paste

I said that you should work on your niché but if there’s something buzzing out there that you feel like you want to post about. Then just write it with your words. Don’t just copy paste others’ writings especially when you don’t behave respectfully towards it.

If you were out of words, and there’s nothing else you can do beside conducting the act. Then make sure you’re leaving a ping or trackback, and state that your writing was taken from other place. That’s called putting some respect. By doing so, you’re giving the source of your writing a fair contribution and you’ll get your self a post to publish.

  1. Writing good posts goes hand-in-hand with writing attractive posts. You can include all the mambo jumbo in the post and portray your best understanding of the English language, but if the post is boring, your readers would just turn away. Add a little bit of humor, controversy and active tone to your posts. Write a post that calls for reader participation.
