Shortening Your URL
Recently I’ve been working alot with Google Docs, since I need a simple and secure way to collaborate with my team-workers (and share it online). It’s easier, because I only need to pass the url to my colleagues, instead of sending an email with file attached on it (it consume my time, my bandwith, and my patience).
The only down-side, is that long url they provide for each document. It’s hard to remember, even when my firefox address bar shows recently opened url, I can’t tell which one is which. So I decided that I need a way, to make short url for my links.
So I search the google for free short url service. Yeah, if you can find one that offer free, why bother to search those that put charges on you, right? And then I found this new short url service, just the way I like it.
This service works as follow:
- Open the site addres (http://niurl.com/)
- You will be asked to provide your “long url”
- niurl can generate a random “short url” or;
- you can provide your desired tag
- Voila, your new shorten url is available to use (share it with your friends, etc.)
Some of those who dwells in the internet marketing business, often use this kind of url redirection for cloacking their affiliate link (which is quite effective, I say).

Adding something, you also call this service as URL Cloaking – since you’re talking about “hiding” your affiliate link ;-)
