WordPress Plugins You Should Use
After I shared the easiest how-tos for installing plugins into your WordPress blog, now I’m going to set you with some buzz. Since plugins weren’t made without any purpose, then you shouldn’t be surprised how many options you will get if you try to search “wordpress plugins” on Google.
There are lots and lots of their kind available on the net. Some looks similar in names and functionality with others, but basically they all exist for a purpose (probably with some minor features to differentiate). I also did some modification with a couple of free-to-download plugins sometimes before, because what they offer sometimes didn’t meet my needs. So another breed of plugins born and served human kind, huh?
The rest of this entry is about a very basic plugins that I used, without paying attention to any optimization what-so-ever. Just go for them, and try to install it first (so you get acustom with installing a WordPress plugin).
Okay, to make it short – let me pick for you some of my faves.
- WordPress.com Stats
This one is for statistical purpose, you can get some information regarding your traffic, what those visitors clicked on your blog, what brought them to your place, etc. This plugins is integrated with your WordPress.com account (so you need one, in case you haven’t got any). - Feedburner Feedsmith Plugin
For those feedburner user, this one is something that you should add to your blog. Basically everyone can subscribe, without any necessisty for feedburner. But when we need statistical material, then this is one place you should visit. The plugins allow you to automatically let visitors get your feedburner RSS-feed, even if they just click on the WordPress default rss URI (http://yourdomain.com/feed) - Sociable
If you feel like wishing your word to be spread towards social bookmarking, then this plugins will give your visitors what they need. - WP-DBManager
This is a techie stuff, but believe me it saved me many times already. This plugin allows you to carried out database management task, without your presence needed. Backup, compacting, and even sending the backup to your email – it does every task that need to be done in order to keep your blog safe and secured. - CFORMS
A very helpful one, I say. In case you don’t want to publish your email as a mean for your visitor to get in contact with you, then this plugins will add a feature as of a contact page for you. The message can be emailed directly to your email address, and the settings won’t be a headache.
More will come, but the class would be different. Remind me when the time comes, so I can add more on the plugins list that I have been using for enhancing my SEO.
