EntreCard is Helping Me
As you can see, there’s an EntreCard widget positioned on my right sidebar. And if you start thinking
What in the world is that, anyway?
I’m quoting this from the site, not because I’m to lazy to write my own opinion, but you should read the stuff to avoid misunderstanding. I don’t want people simplifies things and in the end, brought false expectation.
EntreCard is an socio-economic network of bloggers, who regularly engage in transactions with each other using a virtual currency that is earned by for improving and promoting your blog.
In addition to earning our currency for free, and buying ads for free, you will receive more visits to your blog, more comments, more subscribers, a higher Alexa rank, and more regular readers
The way it work, is quite simple but very unique in the same place. First you need an EntreCard account, so go get one: Signup for EntreCard
You can get your widget code easily, whether by using the predefined design or by uploading your 125x125pix banner. I started with the predefined, just to realize that I can’t change the wigdet when I already started to campaign my blog. Campaign? Yes, that’s the great idea of EntreCard. You can trade with other members (by using EC-Entrecard Credit), to publish your banner on their widget. This network system easily provide the possibility for the member to easily switch roles, between “publisher” or “advertiser”
When you act as publisher, you get credits when you approve one’s advertising request. The advertising duration (to be published on your site) only take one day for each advertisement, then if there’s no more queue coming for your blog, your banner will fill the spot. The longer the queue you have, the more expensive it gets for other to pay you.
When you act as an advertiser, you won’t face any difficulties to choose an appropriate publisher. You can browse the blog list based on it’s category. Or just search with your own specific criteria (price, popularity, etc.) Click on the “Advertise” link below their widget to send an adver request.
The advert will be waiting for the blog owner’s approval before it can go for the slot. So you can have full control on what is going to be displayed on your blog. What you see when the request is proposed, is what you’re going to see when it got published. That’s what keeping me from changing my widget, I used the pre-defined previously, hence I have to wait till all my campaign finished before I can change it with the new design.
If you’re in for the credits or just don’t know where to start your blog walking journey. Just find any EntreCard widgetized blog, clik the “Drop” link and after the text turned into something like “Thanks”, you click the banner to go to the advertising blog. This is called “EC dropping“, while doing it you earn 1EC for each drop.
For me, this EC stuff really helps me a lot, in times where inspiration and idea were being absent in my head or when I need to bring traffic into my blog.
